Android and iOS
Install mobile builds and understand what differs from desktop.
Android
Download the APK for your device from Releases. Android may ask you to allow installation from the app used to open the APK.
- Install and open NuggetVPN.
- Add a subscription or server using the quick start.
- Connect and approve Android’s VPN permission prompt.
Android’s VpnService provides the tunnel. The app runs the core inside the application instead of starting a desktop administrator service.
Available on Android
- The built-in core and Xray.
- Subscription and server imports, including QR camera scanning.
- Routing, themes, fonts, and routing content from plugins.
- Material You wallpaper colours for the System theme on Android 12 and newer.
Desktop features not available on Android
Official sing-box and mihomo are not available. Wi-Fi rules, launch at login, the global shortcut, the system tray, the command line, and in-app updates are also unavailable. Install a newer APK to update.
Plugin pages do not run on Android. The WebView’s native bridge cannot be isolated from those frames, so only content contributions are enabled.
iOS
NuggetVPN is not distributed through the App Store. Releases provide an unsigned asset ending in -ios-unsigned.ipa for iOS 15 and newer.
VPN entitlements are required
Sign the IPA with your own certificate using a signing app or a supported installation method such as TrollStore. The signing certificate must permit Network Extensions and a packet tunnel. A free Apple ID certificate does not provide those capabilities: the app can install but will not connect.
After installing a correctly signed build, import your provider’s configuration and accept the system VPN prompt when connecting. Follow the capabilities of your installed iOS build; desktop-only controls and the Android feature list should not be assumed to apply to iOS.
Moving your configuration
A provider subscription can be imported on each device. Treat its URL as a credential. For backup and restore behaviour, see backups.
