Shortcuts and Wi-Fi rules
Control desktop connections from a shortcut, network changes, or a script.
These controls apply to desktop. Android does not provide Wi-Fi rules, the global shortcut, launch at login, or the command line.
Global shortcut
Set a key combination under Settings → Behaviour → Shortcut. It connects or disconnects even when the window is hidden, using the last-picked server.
Use the clear control to remove the shortcut. Choose a combination that does not conflict with another application.
Wi-Fi rules
Open Settings → Wi-Fi to manage trusted network names.
- Connect on untrusted networks connects to the last-used server when you join a Wi-Fi network that is not trusted.
- Disconnect on trusted networks disconnects when you join a trusted network.
Use Trust for the current network, or add a name to the trusted list manually. A trusted network is one where you have chosen not to need the VPN; its name is not a security guarantee.
If the network name is hidden
Some operating systems require location permission to expose the Wi-Fi name. Allow the app to read it in the system’s privacy settings, or enter trusted network names yourself. The app reports when Wi-Fi lookup is unsupported.
Terminal and scripts
The command line controls an already-running desktop instance:
NuggetVPN status
NuggetVPN connect Tokyo
NuggetVPN setup Work
NuggetVPN disconnectAdd --json for structured results and use exit codes to detect failures. The app can be minimised to the tray, but must remain running.
For time-based routing changes, use routing schedules.
